Born and raised in Mesa, AZ, Aubree was surrounded by music from a young age and could not wait for the day she would pick up her own instrument. She started playing the violin when she was 9, and found her first love. Aubree first pursued classical violin, playing as concert master of various orchestras throughout her teen years.
Beginning in her college years, Aubree picked up the fiddle, playing in both Celtic and American bluegrass ensembles. Toward the end of college, she was selected for Brigham Young University’s head fiddler in the International Mountain Strings Folk Ensemble. With this group, Aubree performed live on stage many times—creating original, improvised solos in each tune. She also had the opportunity to participate in several recording sessions with this group.
Aubree has multiple years of teaching experience as well as one on one experience as an Occupational Therapy technician helping individuals with neurological injuries improve day to day function. She looks forward to launching the new Music Heals initiative to continue helping people improve emotional resilience, mindset, habits, and other behaviors. Aubree also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communication Disorders.
Aubree teaches classical violin as well as fiddle, both by music and by ear. She believes in making each lesson student-centered, responding to the unique, specific needs of each student. Aubree has recently married her best friend and now husband, Dallin. Together, they moved from Arizona to Tennessee after Dallin graduated medical school and started his residency in Emergency Medicine. She is very excited to join the Chewning School of Music and engage with new students and colleagues.
